Vapor Phase Assembly of Molecular Emitter Crystals for Photonic Integrated Circuits

Arya D Keni, Christian M Lange, Adhyyan S Mansukhani, Emma Daggett, Ankit Kundu, Ishita Agarwal, Patrick Bak, Benjamin Cerjan, Jonathan D Hood · arXiv quant-ph

Contribution — Develops a vapor-phase growth route for optically thin DBT-doped anthracene crystals designed for photonic integration. The key scientific link is that the crystals retain narrow, stable molecular transitions while reaching a roughly 200 nm thickness, sub-nanometer roughness, tunable lateral size, and emitter densities high enough for near-field coupling to nanophotonic structures.

A Hybrid Molecular-Nanophotonic Platform for On-Chip Cavity Quantum Electrodynamics and Collective Interactions

Christian M Lange, Arya D Keni, Ishita Agarwal, Emma Daggett, Adhyyan S Mansukhani, Ankit Kundu, Benjamin Cerjan, Libai Huang, Jonathan D Hood · ACS Nano

Contribution — Demonstrates molecular defects coupled to a photonic crystal cavity, including extracted cavity-QED parameters, Purcell-enhanced emission, and molecule-cavity cooperativity near the C≈0.5 scale. The central advance is permanent spectral tuning of lifetime-limited molecular emitters into collective resonance, moving the platform from isolated emitters toward chip-scale many-emitter cavity QED.
